Photography Books

Photography is a journey of exploration and creativity, and every photographer, no matter their level of expertise, can benefit from the wisdom and insights of those who have walked this path before. That’s why I’ve always been an avid collector of photography books.

Over the years, I’ve amassed a collection of over 100 books on every conceivable aspect of photography – from portraits and street photography to landscapes, travel, wildlife, and more. These books have been my constant companions, guiding me, inspiring me, and helping me hone my craft.

In this digital age, we’re inundated with online courses, YouTube tutorials, and e-books. And while these resources can be valuable, there’s something uniquely satisfying about holding a physical book in your hands.

The tactile experience of flipping through the pages, the smell of the paper, the weight of the book – it’s a sensory experience that digital media can’t replicate. Moreover, physical books are always accessible, regardless of internet connectivity or battery life. Books can be shared, gifted, and passed down through generations. They become cherished possessions, filled with annotations and bookmarks, each one telling a story of your photographic journey.

Among the many books in my collection, there are three that hold a special place in my heart. The first is “Genesis” by Sebastião Salgado, a stunning collection of black-and-white photographs that capture the beauty and majesty of our planet. The second is “The Iconic Photographs” by Steve McCurry, a book that showcases some of the most memorable images from this legendary photographer’s career. And finally, there’s “Before They Pass Away” by Jimmy Nelson, a powerful and moving tribute to the world’s last indigenous cultures. These books are more than just books to me. They are works of art, treasures that I hope to pass on to my daughters one day.
